Two Favorite Bedtime Books for Toddlers

Both of the books below were consistent favorites at our house, with favorite being defined as a book that was demanded every night for many many many nights in a row. The two particular books I chose to feature here are two that, despite reading them over and over again and again, I have yet to tire of.

"More More More Said the Baby"
Vera B. Williams
This colorful book stars three laughing babies and the three loving caretakers who chase after them. Its vibrant illustrations (with some nicely understated elements of racial diversity), text that invites singing along, and multiple opportunities for tickling and nose-kissing leave my toddler always asking for "more more more" of this one!

"When the World is Ready for Bed"
Gillian Shields
You know it's a keeper when your 2-year-old starts to memorize lines. The fresh, metric rhymes of this sweet board book will please most literary types, and the illustrations (my favorite is featured on the cover) convey the kind of family love and comfort that good dreams are made of.
